Description
This is a Acoustech II Preamp in excellent condition. Fully working and sounds amazing. This preamp has no potentiometers. All controls are switched resistors and capacitors. Everything works wonderfully. It dates back to 1964, making it one of--if not the first--Solid-State preamps of the era. The chassis/cage appears to be from the tube era, with it's relative airiness, compared to its more modern, Solid State brethren, The gold-toned face also harkens back to a bygone era, neither silver, nor black. This piece is just as striking visually externally as it is internally. Service History: No service records were included from the prior owner. Here at the shop we did routine inspection and testing but no repairs were needed. One channel needs a few more seconds than the other to warm up. A recap would probably fix that. Cosmetic Condition: Overall we rated this at Excellent, with very little to no signs of wear, remarkable, given its' 60 year age. In the Milwaukee Area? Stop in our shop to inspect/demo
