Rear panel: Excellent condition. 6/ HQAUDIOS RESTORATION & TESTING PROCESS Before Restoration • After decades of service, the Sansui 9090's power supply, amplifier section, FM/AM tuner, preamplifier circuits, input selector, volume and tone controls, switches, relays, and illuminated dial system require careful inspection before restoration begins. • For this 9090, HQaudios paid particular attention to the condition of the power supply, output stage, protection circuit, tuner section, controls, switches, potentiometers, speaker terminals, RCA input/output connections, and internal wiring • The amplifier circuits, tuner alignment, signal path, dial illumination, tuning mechanism, meters, and front-panel controls were also carefully evaluated to determine the receiver's overall operating condition before restoration. During Restoration • Based on the inspection results, this 9090 was restored according to HQaudios' technical standards while preserving its original engineering and performance characteristics. • The amplifier and preamplifier sections were professionally cleaned and serviced to restore stable and reliable performance. The selector switch, volume control, relays, and connectors were carefully cleaned to eliminate noise and ensure smooth operation. • The speaker protection relay was replaced based on the condition of this unit, while the power supply received replacement electrolytic capacitors. Selected resistors and transistors were also replaced within the signal path to improve long-term reliability, reduce noise, and maintain the receiver's original operating characteristics. • FM/AM tuner performance, channel balance, stereo operation, input selection, speaker outputs, tone controls, protection circuitry, and all front-panel functions were tested to verify dependable operation. • After the technical restoration was completed, the exterior was professionally cleaned and detailed to preserve the 9090's original appearance while respecting the authentic character of vintage Sansui equipment.
