Description

Rare Vintage Analog Engineering Associates (AEA) Model 520 Stereo Preamp Up for sale is an incredibly rare Analog Engineering Associates Model 520 Stereo Preamplifier. Designed in the late 70s by aerospace engineers to compete with the best from McIntosh and Marantz, this unit is a masterclass in over-engineered, "Star Wars" era boutique audio. Condition Tested & Working: Fully operational with a clean, transparent signal path. History: Used exclusively in a smoke-free home studio. Cosmetics: Very clean for its age. There is light wear on the faceplate (see photos), but it remains a beautiful vintage centerpiece. Key Specifications Era: Mid-to-late 1970s "High-End" boutique solid state. Inputs: Phono, Tuner, Aux, Tape 1 & 2. Phono Stage: Highly regarded, accurate RIAA-equalized section. Tone Circuit: Defeatable (bypassable) tone controls with variable loudness. Build: Aerospace-grade/Mil-Spec components; original clear plexiglass top to showcase the circuitry. Output: Low impedance (stable for long cable runs). These units rarely surface on the market and are prized by collectors for their precision and open soundstage. Make us an offer! We pack professionally and ship fully insured.
