The power supply, amplifier section, protection circuit, FM/AM tuner, preamplifier circuits, input selector, volume and tone controls, switches, relays, speaker terminals, RCA connections, and internal wiring were evaluated. The signal path, dial illumination, Gyro-Touch tuning mechanism, meters, front-panel controls, and overall operating condition were checked to determine the required service work. During Restoration Based on the inspection results, this Marantz 2285B was serviced according to HQaudios' technical standards while preserving its original engineering and vintage character. The power supply, amplifier section, signal path, and internal circuit boards were cleaned, inspected, serviced, and adjusted as required. Controls, switches, relays, potentiometers, and connectors were cleaned and treated to support smooth, dependable operation. FM/AM tuner performance, channel balance, input selection, speaker outputs, tone controls, and front-panel functions were inspected and adjusted as required. Components that no longer met operating requirements were replaced where necessary, and relevant solder connections were inspected and reinforced as needed. The custom-made WC-22-style wood case was prepared by HQaudios and test-fitted to this receiver. After the technical work was completed, the receiver and wood case were professionally cleaned and detailed. After Restoration After restoration was completed, this Marantz 2285B underwent comprehensive functional testing under real operating conditions.
