JBL 4623 15”

Description

These are a pair of JBL 15” PA speakers, from the cabaret series, most likely from the 80s. They sound great, and they’re very loud, 105db at one watt. From what I could find, these would have sold for about $3300 per unit (adjusted for inflation) in 1983. They’re in pretty good shape, they have plenty of visual blemishes, but they are functional. A few feet have cracks, and one cab is missing the JBL logo on the front. All the speakers are original, with the rare and much-desired 2402 bullet tweeters, and the 15” woofers (E130-8s). I I haven’t tested them thoroughly, but I played some music through them at high volumes and they sounded great. One of them seems to have something lose somewhere, as there is a fluttery vibration when a lot of bass is being produced, but it does function. They measure roughly 30x20x18 (inches) and weigh about 95 pounds. They're made of 19mm plywood with protective polyurethane paint, and they have spring-loaded handles and protective corners with slots for stacking. Both speakers have two parallel jacks, and all the jacks have spring-loaded covers except for the input jack on one speaker. They're 8 ohms, the listed frequency response is 50hz to 15khz, and the crossover frequency is 3khz.
