The 604-8G Duplex driver combines a 15-inch low-frequency cone with a coaxially mounted compression driver and sectoral horn, providing the efficiency, coherence, and dynamic presentation associated with classic Altec systems. With their high sensitivity and wide frequency range, these speakers pair especially well with low-powered tube amplifiers and other quality vintage amplification, while delivering excellent dynamics and a lifelike presentation. 4/ COSMETIC CONDITION The speakers are in Excellent vintage cosmetic condition. The cabinets show normal signs of age and previous use, such as minor marks, light scratches, small veneer imperfections, or corner wear as shown in the photos. The grille cloths, badges, cabinet corners, back labels, and input terminals are shown clearly in the photo section. Please review all photos carefully, as they are part of the description. During Restoration • The cabinets were carefully cleaned and detailed while preserving their original vintage appearance. • The 604-8G coaxial drivers were inspected and tested to verify proper operation of both the low-frequency and high-frequency sections. • The crossover networks were inspected and serviced to ensure proper frequency distribution between the low-frequency and high-frequency sections. • Internal wiring, solder joints, terminals, and connections were inspected and serviced based on the condition of this pair. • Aging electronic components that no longer met specifications were replaced during restoration. • All accessible connections and driver mounting points were inspected and secured to ensure reliable mechanical and electrical operation.
