Privacy Policy
Effective July 23, 2026 · Nate Evan Lukas Inc. (doing business as "SPKRS")
SPKRS is a marketplace for premium audio equipment operated by Nate Evan Lukas Inc. ("SPKRS", "we", "us"). This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to the SPKRS iOS app and website.
Information we collect
- Account information. Email address, display name, and password (or your Google/Apple sign-in identity). If you sign in with Apple you may choose to hide your email address.
- Profile and preferences. Optional details such as your location, listening preferences, brands you follow, and budget ranges used to personalize your feed.
- Listings and other content you post. Photos, descriptions, prices, condition notes, and messages you exchange with other users.
- Purchase and sale information. Orders, shipping addresses, tracking numbers, order history, seller balances, withdrawals, and related records.
- Payment information. Payments are processed by Stripe. Your full card number and bank credentials go directly to Stripe and never touch SPKRS servers. We receive limited transaction metadata (amounts, status, last-4 identifiers).
- Seller identity verification. Sellers verify their identity through Stripe Identity (see below). SPKRS stores only the verification outcome and a session reference — never your raw ID document.
- Device and usage data. Push notification tokens (if you enable notifications), app interactions, crash reports, and diagnostic logs.
Identity verification with Stripe
We use Stripe for identity document verification. Stripe collects identity document images, facial images, ID numbers and addresses as well as advanced fraud signals and information about the devices that connect to its services. Stripe shares this information with us and also uses this information to operate and improve the services it provides, including for fraud detection. You may also choose to allow Stripe to use your data to improve Stripe's biometric verification technology. You can learn more about Stripe and read its privacy policy at stripe.com/privacy.
How we use information
- Operate the marketplace: listings, orders, escrow, payouts, and support.
- Verify seller identities and prevent fraud, scams, and counterfeits.
- Review listings for accuracy and safety, including automated (AI-assisted) review of listing photos and text.
- Send transactional notifications (orders, shipping, funds released) and, with your permission, push notifications.
- Personalize your feed and improve the product using aggregate analytics.
- Comply with legal obligations, including tax and financial record-keeping.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers that operate SPKRS on our behalf: Stripe (payments, payouts, identity verification), shipping carriers (delivery), Supabase (database and authentication), Vercel (hosting), PostHog (product analytics), Sentry (error monitoring), Resend (email delivery), and Google (AI-assisted listing review of photos and listing text). Each provider receives only what it needs to perform its service. We may also disclose information when required by law or to protect users from fraud or harm.
Data retention and deletion
You can delete your account at any time under Settings → Delete account. Deletion removes your profile, listings, photos, preferences, messages, saved items, and sign-in identity. Records of completed financial transactions (orders, ledger entries, withdrawals) are retained in an archived form as required for accounting, tax, and dispute-resolution obligations. Your account is gone, but these archived records are still keyed to your former account so we can match them to the tax year and transactions they document — we remove your shipping and pickup addresses from them at deletion time, keep only what accounting requires (amounts, dates, fees, and an order reference), and delete the archived records entirely after 7 years. If you have a remaining balance or orders in progress, you'll be asked to resolve them before deletion.
We use Stripe for identity document verification. Stripe retains a copy of the data provided as part of a verification. You can delete your information from Stripe's servers or revoke your consent by contacting us at nle@spkrs.org or via Stripe support at support.stripe.com.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (including California and the EU/EEA), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Exercise these rights in-app (Settings) or by emailing nle@spkrs.org. We will not discriminate against you for exercising them.
Children
SPKRS is not directed to children. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account, buy, or sell on SPKRS.
Changes
We'll post any material changes to this policy here and update the effective date. Continued use of SPKRS after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
